The Starinis Cluster is a small star cluster outside of the Ethiris Galaxy. It is home to five species: Volderonians, Teridarians, Heretorians, Mekarians, and the Tixu.

Brief History[]
The Starinis Cluster was ruled over by the Mekarians and the Heretorians for many years until the Tixu uprising which push the Mekarians and the Heretorians back to the Northern Sector. The Tixu ruled for 481 years. They were later defeated by an alliance of the Mekarians, Heretorians, and the newly emerged Teridarians and Volderonians.
After their defeat, the Tixu left the cluster and retreated to their colonies on the outskirts of the Ethiris Galaxy, leaving the Starinis Cluster in peace. But the Teridarians and the Volderonians, due to their urge to explore, also set up colonies in the Ethiris Galaxy, coming into contact with the Slithari.
Recently another species from a galaxy in the Universal South-West, the A'develans, has been sending small fleets towards the cluster and has engaged Mekarian and Heretorian scout fleets. This may be the precursor to a larger invasion.
Astrocartography[]
The Starinis Cluster was made up of 41 stars, and only a small number of those systems had planets. It was split into 8 Sectors. The Sectors are surrounded by thin Subspace Fields created by the Mekarians, and the sectors are connected by Mekarian Subspace Gates. This was to ensure that vessels could only pass into other sectors by using the Gates, and therefor allowing the Mekarians and Heretorians to defend sectors from enemies with greater success. This proved a good strategy when fighting the Tixu, as the gates are easy to defend.
Even after the Tixu victory, the Gates were still considered neutral, as the Tixu could not hack into the Gate Network, even though the Mekarians could not control them either until the Tixu left the cluster after their defeat.
